I'm Alyssa, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Family Nurse Practitioner, and former ICU travel nurse with over 8 years of frontline experience. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in more than 50 hospitals across the U.S., caring for thousands of patients in high-stakes environments—from critical cardiac units to post-surgical floors.

I graduated with my Bachelor's of Nursing Science in 2017 from The University of South Florida in which I became an ICU nurse for all specialties, started traveling to local hospitals and out of state. I was also an Assistant Nurse Manager for a Cardiovascular ICU. I received my Master's of Nursing Science in 2022 from the University of South Alabama and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. I then went on to receive my Doctorate in Nursing Science in 2024. I work as a Telehealth provider and an instructor for nursing students.

My journey through healthcare has shown me where real change is needed—especially in the way we track patient fluid intake. After witnessing firsthand the lack of standardization and accuracy in fluid monitoring across countless hospitals, I knew there had to be a better way. That’s what inspired me to create HydroHeart—a nurse-led innovation built to protect patients, empower caregivers, and improve outcomes through smarter, real-time fluid tracking.

I’m passionate about bridging the gap between bedside care and medical innovation. With HydroHeart, I’m proud to bring a practical, nurse-designed solution to one of healthcare’s most overlooked challenges.
